Fundraising For George Child and Family Welfare

The organisation depends on a number of fundraising initiatives to keep it operational!

Ladies Tea

We are blessed each June to have volunteers who host the GEORGE CHILD WELFARE ladies tea.  This event has become a much anticipated outing for the ladies in the Garden Route and we always have a full house of 300 ladies who attend.  Our theme for each tea is usually carried through-out our year in all the projects we do. This year on the 08 June our theme was “A life in Colour" and was, once again, held at Fancourt Hotel. This was our 11th ladies tea.

Please visit our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/George-Child-and-Family-Welfare-361495670544735/?ref=hl and take a look at our photo albums, like our page and invite all your friends so that you can keep in the loop as to what we are up to.

Gideon du Plessis Charity Golf Day

For 12 years running Gideon Du Plessis and his family have been hosting a charity golf day which is held toward November each year.  All the proceeds from this event are donated to George Child and Family Welfare.

The amount of effort put in by these sponsors is greatly appreciated and the funds always come in when they are desperately needed.

Thank you for your effort and support throughout all these years.

Charity Shop

Our Charity Shop has been providing the organisation with a steady income for the past 16 years.  Initially situated in Langenhoven Street, it is currently on our premises in Nelson Mandela Boulevard.  We rely on a group of motivated volunteers to run it, as well as the generous donations from the public.  Any items can be donated, and what we are not able to utilize for projects or families in need,  we sell in the shop to help us generate an income to utilize for projects. Any donations are welcome.  You can also visit us to pick up a bargain or two!!

Other

Smaller fundraising projects occur throughout the year.  Garden Days, Market Days, and we always require the dedication of hardworking volunteers.  If you are keen to assist in any way please contact the office on 044-8740424
